War has left the veterans with severe marks on body and soul, but they refuse to be victims and set out to finish an expedition only few could manage.

For the first time in history a group of injured war veterans - and Lars Brygmann - are traversing 250 miles of snow and ice in Northeast Greenland.

It's minus 22 degrees, so if you blink, you lashes will freeze together, but now the first day off awaits - and the night inside must be celebrated!

They're over halfway, and the veterans are starting to appreciate the simple life, but there is also time to reflect on their experiences.
