Kim Dawson

While primarily an actress in soft-core adult films, Kim Dawson has flirted with mainstream media as well as writing and producing a picture in which she starred. Her first role was in the science fiction vampire flick "Not of This Earth," featuring former porn star Traci Lords. After a couple of similar movies, Dawson tried other sexy fare, including comedies such as "Bikini Med School" and thrillers like "Sexual Outlaws." "The Voyeur," a drama about rekindling a flagging marriage, had higher aspirations as an earnest romance, but outside of an appearance in the popular Candice Bergen-starring sitcom, "Murphy Brown," Dawson would continue mainly in straightforward adult videos. In 1997, she was featured in recurring parts in two series adapted from the graphic novels of acclaimed Italian writer and artist Milo Manara. The first, "Click," tells of a device that arouses women uncontrollably, while the second, "Butterscotch," introduces a body paint that conceals the user. For 1998's "Carnal Fate," Dawson both wrote and produced in addition to playing the lead.
