Murder’s a drag, when Jane and the CBI try to find the killer of a young man found burned to death outside a cabaret featuring female impersonators. During the investigation, they discover a list of suspects, all of whom bullied the victim.

Jess goes against Nick's wishes and makes it her mission to get the loft's cantankerous landlord (guest star Jeff Kober) to like her. In doing so, she inadvertently jeopardizes their living situation and the guys are forced to admit they've made some "unofficial" changes to the apartment. Meanwhile Schmidt tries to decipher what he thinks are mixed signals from his boss Kim (guest star Gillian Vigman).

Ray waits to see if Belikov will be released from prison; Ray encounters former clients at a benefit; Teresa battles postpartum depression; Mickey tries to convince the DA that he was behind the Minnassian massacre.

As federal agents look for the shooters who attacked him and Winona, Raylan’s (Timothy Olyphant) own search leads him to confront Mags Bennett (Margo Martindale). As Gary Hawkins’s (guest star William Ragsdale) shady dealings threaten to engulf Raylan, too, the battle between the Bennetts and the Crowders for control of crime in Harlan heats up.
