Hannah Spearritt

April Fools' She caught the acting bug after appearing in a staged production of "Annie" at the age of 12. She auditioned for the U.K.-based National Youth Music Theatre soon after, and trained and toured with the company throughout the '90s, mounting performances of "Pendragon" and the gangster musical "Bugsy Malone," among others. Her natural talent as both an actress and a singer made her an ideal candidate for S Club 7, a pop group that rose to prominence as stars of several band-branded BBC series and TV-movies in which Spearritt and her constituent band mates appeared as themselves. The group enjoyed healthy success from 1999 to 2003, when hostility against manager Simon Fuller forced an unceremonious split. Reportedly just three days after the schism, Spearritt landed an audition to star opposite Frankie Muniz in the teen spy comedy "Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London." Further distancing herself from her reputation as a teen idol, Spearritt also accepted a small role in the gory American "Seed of Chucky," a follow-up to the late '80s slasher franchise "Child's Play," the same year. She eventually found success again in British television as Abby Maitland, a temperamental zookeeper and series regular on the time-hopping science fiction series "Primeval."
