Deborah Ann Woll

American actor Deborah Ann Woll, best known for portraying the powerful bloodsucker Jessica Hamby on HBO's "True Blood" (2008-2014), was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Woll's love of performing began in middle school when she started exploring her creative side with dance, piano and acting lessons. She soon learned that she wasn't much of a dancer or piano player; her love of acting, however, only deepened as Woll grew older. When it came time to enter college, Woll enrolled in the University of Southern California's prestigious drama program, where she would spend the next four years honing her craft. Throughout college, and in the ensuing years after she graduated, Woll's professional acting career was limited mostly to the stage. She performed in dozens of plays throughout the 2000s, in between landing bit parts on TV shows like the comedy "My Name Is Earl" (NBC 2005-09) and crime drama "The Mentalist" (CBS 2008-2015). Then in 2008 she was cast as a former do-gooder turned lustful vampire named Jessica Hamby on HBO's hit supernatural drama "True Blood." Woll appeared on the show during its fourth season, and her character remained a recurring member of the series well into the show's seventh and final season in the summer of 2014. In addition to her role on "True Blood," Woll has also appeared in various independent films, including "Little Murder" (2011), "Ruby Sparks" (2012), and "Highland Park" (2013). In 2014, Woll co-starred in romantic comedy "Meet Me in Montenegro" (2014), followed by starring roles in "The Automatic Hate" (2015) and indie drama "Perfect" (2015). During this period, she also starred in the TV series "Daredevil" (Netflix 2015-) as female lead Karen Page.
