Rail Away

Starting off in Lauterbrunnen, the Wengern Alp Bahn takes you on a journey along the longest cogwheel narrow-gauge railway in the world, over 19 kilometres long.

This snow episode in the wintry Bernese Oberland starts in the glacier village of Grindelwald. Grindelwald has been visited by English tourists since 1850.

A train journey through the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The route goes right through an area where a few centuries ago the gold rush was at its height. This is still visible today in the numerous churches and colonial buildings.

Belo Horizonte was created on the drawing board, so to speak, over a hundred years ago, with Washington DC serving as a model. In terms of urban planning and architecture, Belo Horizonte is considered a masterpiece.

Continuamos por el municipio de Passa Quatro, conocido por sus fuentes de agua mineral y por ser la estación de cabecera del Tren de la Sierra de la Mantiqueira.

Hoy viajamos a bordo del Tren de la Selva brasileño. El tren partirá desde Curitiba, y descenderá casi mil metros hasta la ciudad de Morretes.
