S4, E13: Kris has undergone a desperate search for Wildfire since his disappearance in 4012. Having checked everywhere for miles around Raintree with no luck, Kris is left exhausted. Even if they find Wildfire he may not be in a condition to race in the upcoming Tucker Stakes. When another slot opens up, Dani enters Tigress Eye in the Tucker Stakes and Matt supports her. Davis comes to Dani for comfort after being rejected by Junior. He realizes he needs Junior in his life but Dani warns him that the best thing he can do is leave Kris and Junior alone. Kris gets a tip on a barn that is supposed to have stolen horses but when the others express some doubts she goes alone. She breaks into the barn but doesn’t find Wildfire. The others find her and explain that the barn belongs to a family that would never steal Wildfire. Kris thinks that Wildfire might be running with the wild mustangs and makes the others go out with her to find them. Kris spots the mustangs but when she sees Wildfire isn’t among them, she’s forced to accept that he’s gone for good. They return to Raintree in sadness. She looks up to see Wildfire racing towards her. One of the handymen left the stall unlocked and when Wildfire ran away he made it look like a theft. After seeing how much she missed Wildfire Junior has decided he can’t split them apart. He’s going to Alaska alone and they will get married when he gets back. Plus there’s a crisis in Alaska and he has to leave right away. Matt drives Junior to the airport and he and Junior become friends again. Davis apologizes to Kris before the race. Junior watches the race on an airport TV. The race ends in a triple photo finish. When the tape is reviewed Wildfire is declared the winner. After the race Kris says goodbye to Wildfire. She’s going to follow Junior to Alaska. Matt invites her on one final ride around Raintree. He leads her into the meadow where everyone is waiting. Jean produces a wedding dress and Junior appears, dressed in a tux. Junior put together an entire surprise wedding for Kris. Jean and Pablo give Wildfire to Kris as a wedding present and Junior tells her he has changed the plans. He’s canceling the project and not going to Alaska. At Kris’s urging Junior calls and invites Davis to the wedding. It’s an emotional moment as father and son embrace. The wedding starts and Kris and Junior exchange their vows. They are now man and wife. Then the blood drains from Kris’ face as a mysterious stranger makes a sudden appearance.
