Wendy Robie

Wendy Robie was an American actress who was best known for playing oddball film and TV characters, most notably the eye-patch wearing eccentric Nadine Hurley on David Lynch's "Twin Peaks" (ABC/Showtime, 1990-91, 2017). Born in Cincinnati and raised in Northern California, Robie earned her college degree in English Literature and intended on teaching English at the collegiate level, before jumping headfirst into a stage-acting career. She made a name for herself by appearing in prominent stage plays all throughout the country, most notably Chicago and Los Angeles, before receiving the opportunity of a lifetime to appear as a cast member on David Lynch's groundbreaking television series "Twin Peaks." Robie played the Nadine Hurley on the series, which was cancelled after two seasons, despite widespread critical acclaim, due to poor ratings. After the cancellation of "Twin Peaks" Robie continued to act steadily, most notably in films like "The People Under the Stairs" (1991) "Vampire in Brooklyn" (1995), and "The Glimmer Man" (1996). Her screen acting tapered off around 2000, as Robie turned most of her attention to her first love-the stage. She appeared in numerous stage productions in New York and LA throughout the 2000s and 2010s, while making the occasional appearance in a film or TV show. Robie returned to acting in the summer of 2017 when a new version of "Twin Peaks" began appearing on Showtime. In the revamped series, which was also written and directed by Lynch, Robie reprised her role as Nadine Hurley.
