Sheldon is forced to spend the night at church for a youth lock-in when he acts as Mary’s spy. Meanwhile, Georgie finds himself attracted to an older woman.

Sheldon’s first day of college is derailed by his new philosophy teacher, Professor Ericson (guest star MELANIE LYNSKEY). Also, Mary and Brenda (recurring guest star MELISSA PETERMAN) live vicariously through Missy’s first day of middle school.

While college orientation does not go as Sheldon planned, Mary is mistaken for a university student and invited to a party. Meanwhile, George helps Pastor Jeff (series regular MATT HOBBY) set up a children’s nursery.

While George Sr. plays handyman at Brenda Sparks’ house, Sheldon gets the science yips and has to learn how not to think.

With the Coopers facing judgement from the congregation in the wake of Georgie's pregnancy, Sheldon is distracted by the family drama, while Missy stands up for her brother.
