Amsterdam Narcos

In the fourth instalment of the BAFTA-winning Narcos series comes "Amsterdam Narcos," which follows how the cultural city turned into the drug capital of Europe from the 1970s to the early 2000s.While it started as the government tolerating the hash trade, the situation quickly snowballed with organized crime swooping in and cocaine and ecstasy flooding the continent as rave culture began to take hold. Soon, Amsterdam fuelled a pipeline of drugs and criminality through British ports and across Europe, as traffickers exploited permissive attitudes to build one of the most lucrative drug markets in the world. As the Dutch underworld exploded, the drugs trade spiralled out of control. Law enforcement resorted to desperate measures in a bid to catch the gangsters responsible, but the efforts had devestating consequences.
