Studio Film Bilder asked several talented young animators, just graduated from the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, to choose an animal, write a story, create a design, and animate it in their personal style. The animators had artistic freedom to create something unique. There were just two requests for the artists: one, the films should be understandable for small children, and second, the films should be funny and emotional. The animated shorts were used for the popular SWR show "I Know an Animal," which won awards like the Prix Jeunesse.

EPISODE 1

Bat Time

When night falls on the farm, a little bat wakes up. Oh, how great would it be to bark with a dog or to crow with a cockerel, and to jump and to dance. The little bat wants some company. It doesn't want to be alone, and it is looking for a friend.
EPISODE 2

Rockin' Rhino

Dancing is so much fun! But dancing all by yourself is only half the fun. So the little rhino needs to come up with an idea to make everyone dance with it.

Tiger

A happy little tiger is imprinted on a plate of food. But if you leave him alone, and he can't find anything to eat on his plate, he will leave it and travel to the lunch table to satisfy his appetite.

Whale

The whale swims proudly through the sea, but all the animals are afraid of his huge size and his broad grin. Will he find new friends to play games with?
EPISODE 5

Head Up!

Two goats, a small one and a big one, walk along a mountain path. The small goat gets easily distracted and keeps stumbling into obstacles. The big goat shows him how to do it right. But it's not just the little goat who is learning along the way.
EPISODE 6

Frozen Fun

A snowball fight is fun for everyone! Because it's so cold outside, the penguin has to think of something special to get its friends to join the game.
