Nicholas Campbell

Canadian actor and director Nicholas Campbell earned widespread acclaim as the title player on the CBC TV cop drama "Da Vinci's Inquest." A native of Toronto, Campbell originally studied pre-law at Kingston's Queen's University before switching to acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England. After honing his craft as a touring member of the York Theatre Repertory Company, Campbell returned to Canada, where he landed his first screen role in the 1976 horror film "The Omen." He continued to garner an impressive list of screen credits on Canadian series television, including lead roles on the '80s dramas "Diamonds" and "The Hitchhiker," as well as supporting movie roles in big-budget features such as "The Eagle Has Landed" (1976) and "The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977). After nearly three decades as a Canadian TV mainstay, Campbell captured his first Gemini Award for his performance as coroner Dominic Da Vinci on the critically-hailed series "Da Vinci's Inquest." He went on to direct several episodes of the show.
