S9, E16: When Elvis overhears Station Office Steele saying ‘Penny or Elvis has to go’, he assumes that either he or Penny are about to lose their job. In a generous move to make sure Penny stays on, Elvis does everything he can to ensure Steele gets rid of him, not Penny. He pours salt into Steele’s tea and even hides Steele’s fire helmet.
