Howard Franklin

American screenwriter turned director. Franklin started his career as a screenwriter with the adaptation of Umberto Eco's novel, "The Name of the Rose" (1986). Which led to his penning the Ridley Scott thriller "Someone to Watch Over Me" (1987). Franklin made his directorial debut as co-director with Bill Murray on the comedy, "Quick Change" (1990). Franklin made his solo directorial debut with "The Public Eye" (1992), a stylized period portrait of a tabloid photographer starring Joe Pesci and Barbara Hershey.
