The life of Andrea Fanti, a brilliant chief of Medicine, takes an unexpected turn when the father of a patient who died due to negligence shoots him in the head. He survives, but loses his memory of the last twelve years of his life.

Andrea is hospitalized with the hope that the most familiar place for him will help him recover his memory; Giulia supervises his rehabilitation.

Andrea goes back to the ward as an assistant to the trainees, who were terrified of him a few weeks prior. He collaborates with Giulia on the case of a young manager.

An important patient of Giulia's intensifies the competition between the interns, and Andrea has the chance to really get to know them.

Giulia brings Andrea back to the ward after a patient requested to be examined by him; Alba confronts the resentment she feels towards her mother.
