When an ancient alien horde escapes from its prison on Mars and infiltrates Earth, Batman and Superman join forces to investigate the threat; mysterious psychic attacks lead Superman to discover an alien prisoner unlike all the others.

Superman and Batman escape with Martian J'onn Jonzz and meet fellow superheroes Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, the Flash and Wonder Woman; the new team flies off to stop alien factories from creating a planet-wide shroud intended to block the sun.

Secret Origins, Part 3

With the alien invasion nearly complete, the heroes attempt to free Superman and Hawkgirl from an alien facility, but fall into a trap; the alien leader, known as the Imperium, arrives and comes face to face with J'onn J'onzz.

The Justice League fights a group of robots called Manhunters who demand Green Lantern John Stewart's surrender until John suddenly agrees to go willingly; the League follows John to an interplanetary tribunal and learns the grim charges against him.
