Alex touches her breasts to check if she has a lump. She reveals a spoiler of a book that Jean is reading. Jean is complaining about Alex coming home late from the office. Alex pesters Jean about having a baby. She fantasizes about recreating the food scene from "Nine 1/2 weeks" and wants to invite her mother.

Alex's mother offers to go on a trip, but without Jean, as she wonders why Jean doesn’t want kids – and why he is with her daughter. Alex thinks that she’s pregnant. Alex's mother shows old pictures of Alex, ignoring her son-in-law, which exasperates Jean, before she reads Alex’s tarot cards.

Jean wants to offer a gift to Alex. Alex convinces Jean to change his underwear. She demonstrates how to put perfume. Jean tries several jackets, but none of them pleases him. Alex and Jean are lost in the department store, where the music is so loud that they no longer hear each other.

At a little get-together, everyone is making fun of Jean because he doesn’t know how to cook. Jean tries to talk to Daniel about football, cars and computers. Daniel and Jeannette are talking nonstop about sexual intercourse. Jeannette gossips about a friend of hers before Alex and Jean try to explain the rules of a board game.

Alex is the only one who is talking in a couple's therapy session, so the therapist asks for Jean’s opinion. Again, Alex answers in his place. The therapist asks some details on their sex lives. Alex and Jean seem to never agree on anything. Alex reveals her secret fantasies, but Jean is angered when his privacy is invaded.

In order to make a bad joke, Jean puts Alex's treasured item in the microwave. Jean has a tantrum because Alex has given the toy from the cereal box to the neighbor’s kid. Later, Jean answers a call from a female co-worker of Alex because Alex doesn’t want to talk to her! Jean puts on a wild dance performance, while Alex offers cuddles to Jean in exchange for going grocery shopping.
