Ethan is a 17-year-old driver of a local gang, run with an iron fist by Damien. Sent to do the dirty work, Ethan meets Shane who introduces him to spinning, a sport combining cars and spectacular stunts.

Detective Nazeem is drawn to Damien's gang after a body turns up; Hercules hides their actions; Ethans tries to start over by joining Shane's group and becoming their driver.

Ethan turns to embezzling gang money as he runs into financial difficulties while constructing a vehicle; Damien plans a dangerous job; in preparation for an impending tournament, Ethan befriends fellow spinner Amber.

The atmosphere is electric as Damien's gang wants to take up arms against Vernon and Butter. Torn between Damien and Hercules who are beginning to question his loyalty, and Nazeem who is beginning to suspect him, Ethan is mired in his own web of lies.

While Damien hatches a plan to make a big splash, Ethan and his team leave Manenberg to perform at a big spinning event in Mossel Bay. Suspicious of a leak among their ranks, Damien and Hercules take it upon themselves to bring Ethan back to launch the operation.

Rejected by Damien and ousted from his spinning team, Ethan is forced to find his feet in the real world. Still unable to get back behind the wheel, Amber tells Ethan that he has one more way to redeem himself and enter the spinning contest.
