Inspired by the true story of Dulce Caroço, a hair stylist in Lisbon, who, in the middle of the 2008 global financial crisis—after finding herself alone, broke, and with two children to raise—embarks on a string of bank heists using a blonde wig and a toy gun. The press made her a folk hero as she kept the public guessing what her next move would be, and how long she could stay out of the police’s grasp.
