To avoid food waste, one has to get creative. The world's first waste supermarket is located in Copenhagen. There is also the world's first waste restaurant, where Chef Søren prepares creative dishes.

In London, David meets a chef-turned-activist. With his little effort called the Hare Krishna - Food for All, he uses discarded groceries from supermarkets and processes them into delicious dishes to help fight both food waste and poverty.

Leftover chef David meets app developer Gaia in Rome. Together, they create a Last Minute Market app, where you can buy groceries at heavily discounted prices before they're thrown away. They then buy mackerel, gnocchi and cheese from the app.

According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization a third of all food produced worldwide is thrown away. In Europe, this is equivalent to 89 tons of groceries per year. How can we stop this waste?
