S1, E4: This time, Susan Calman visits the beautiful Scottish Borders. She gets behind the scenes at the famed Gretna Green, the UK's wedding capital and discovers the secrets of weddings past. She even gets a chance to play her own part in a wedding happening that very day. Susan follows the course of the world famous River Tweed, trying her hand at fly fishing as she goes. Apparently, it's all about casting- but it turns out that's easier to say than do. She meets the weavers at the last commercial hand woven tartan mill in the world and discovers that her own ancestors would have needed quite a large wardrobe for all of the tartans to which the Calmans can lay claim. She learns how rugby became a very different game when it made its way to the town of Melrose and is able to put her dancing skills to good use in an unexpected setting, as she learns the secrets of herding sheep with the smartest dog breed in the world - the Border Collie.
