S6, E18: Alexander von Humboldt was born in 1769. His parents were great land owners in Prussia, and his friends were Goethe, Schiller, Fichte and Schelling. At the age of 28, in 1797, he went to Paris, also being interested in the French Revolution. He met the French botanist Aimé Bonpland. They became friends and decided to work together in the future.
