S3, E4: Alan Titchmarsh and his team come to the rescue of people who need their help in making the most of their outdoor spaces. This week they are in Gloucestershire at the home of Kathy Mason, a remarkable mother of two who has devoted her life to looking after others. For the past 18 years she has cared for her brother, who is in a wheelchair. She also nursed her mother and her husband, who both died of cancer within three years of each other, and she has fostered and adopted children with learning difficulties. With so much on her plate it is no wonder that her garden has been neglected. Alan and the team get to work, and with several existing trees as his inspiration, he sets about creating a magical woodland, while David Domoney, Katie Rushworth and Frances Tophill have their work cut out. The key feature is going to be a summer house, where Kathy can relax, but laying the lawn over the quagmire left by the torrential rain proves a problem.
