S1, E3: Based closely on Eric Fenby's book entitled Delius as I Knew Him, Ken Russell's 1968 documentary is considered by many to be the finest of his biographical productions for the BBC. Upon seeing it, Russell's then boss described it as "the best film I have ever seen about a composer". Highlights include Russell's marvellous re-enactments of the Fenby-Delius dictation sequences - arguably the dramatic and musical highlights of the film.
