The Round Tower (Part 1)

S13, E1: 17 year old Vanessa Ratcliffe is constantly at odds with her social climbing parents, Jonathan and Jane. She feels happier helping Emily their housekeeper at Brampton Hill, than entertaining the high society future in-laws of her sister Susan. One evening, Vanessa has an unexpected and life-changing moonlit encounter with neighbour Arthur Brett. Meanwhile, Emily's son, Angus is unhappy at the engineering works which Jonathan Ratcliffe manages, and is considering setting up his own haulage business. The lives of the Ratcliffe family are thrown into turmoil when Vanessa is found to be pregnant. When Irene Brett learns of this, she immediately points the finger at Angus Cotton.
