The White Elephant

S3, E8: The whole world is watching as the Great Exhibition is opened to the public. It is the biggest day of Albert’s life, and he and Victoria are determined to make it a success. The occasion appears to be a glorious triumph, but behind the scenes Palmerston suffers a knock back as he misreads a political situation. Feodora, meanwhile is foiled in her plans to marry her daughter to Louis Napoleon, and her true nature is revealed to Albert. Sophie must decide if she is to run away to America with Joseph. The exhibition takes its toll on Albert, who collapses.
