Grief-stricken over the death of their young son, Nate jets off with his wife Adrian and her brother Jay to immerse himself in a new extreme sport, urban exploration - the investigation of areas not designed for public use. But as their journey plunges them deep into underground Moscow, through Ivan the Terrible's torture chambers and Stalin's mythical Metro-2 subway system, it becomes clear their descent may be more than just a physical one.
