Christmas Heart
When tragedy strikes, one family finds an empowering strength in faith and in the inspiring spirit of a community, to make a Christmas wish come true. A record storm is headed for the Great Lakes, but the holiday spirit of the families on Arthur Avenue in Cleveland won’t be broken. It’s only days until Christmas and nothing can prevent them from the annual lighting of their Christmas luminaries. Everything changes when, neighbourhood couple Mike and Ann Norman, discover that their teenage son, Matt, has suddenly collapsed during basketball practice. Suffering from a rare heart condition, his chance of survival is slim without a transplant. With only a short window to save him, the Normans are devastated and hoping against hope for a miracle. Days later, more than 150 miles away in Detroit, a tragic accident claims the ill-fated life of baby-faced punk, Jimmy. He’s left behind a pregnant girlfriend named Nikki and a broken mother, Elizabeth. After wrestling with her emotions and as Nikki prepares to give birth, Elizabeth agrees to donate her son’s heart. She has no way of knowing what such a decision means to a family of strangers on Arthur Avenue. As the winter squall bears down, the transportation of the heart is impeded by escalating complications. With time running out, the Normans can only wait and pray for a Christmas miracle. A year’s end proves to be a new beginning in Christmas Heart, an inspiring movie of the power of love and faith, and the rewards of family, friends, and selfless strangers.
