Far North
FAR NORTH is a chilling feature from the award-winning British director Asif Kapadia (Senna / The Warrior). Set in the vast and remote landscape of the Arctic, it tells a beautiful, shocking story of survival and revenge. Against her instincts, a woman; Saiva played by Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), rescues a wounded stranger; Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings Trilogy) from the ice and nurses him back to health with the help of the young and stunning Anja; Michelle Krusiec (Saving Face). The two women compete for the man's affection, only to become embroiled in a heated love triangle. Shot with precision under treacherous conditions, the film shows the universal longing for love and connection, amid the hardships of arctic life. With an original score to match the intensity of the images, FAR NORTH delves deep into a world of myth, love, scorn, deceit and, ultimately, the overwhelming force of nature. FAR NORTH is adapted from a short story by award-winning writer Sara Maitland.
