What if the Greeks hadn't invented democracy? This is a two-part documentary about animal species that make decisions collectively. In this first episode: on the African continent, in many animal societies, the leader consults the members of his or her group before making a decision. This discovery calls into question our beliefs about the animal world, which aren't governed by "law of the jungle" after all.
