Juniper
Troubled teenager, Sam, has been on a self-destructive streak, so bad that it could have resulted in his own death. Returning home from boarding school he discovers that his wheelchair-bound English grandmother, Ruth, has moved in with them. Ruth is an ex-war photographer with a lust for life and an equal love of gin. Sam soon finds himself confronted by her alcoholic spiced wit and her worldly-wise nerve. While their first meeting is awkward, their second is borderline violent. Things get steadily worse when Sam finds himself stranded alone with her for the school holidays. Both strong-willed characters, a battle of supremacy ensues, enabling Sam to embrace life again and for Ruth to face up to her impending mortality.
