A travelling art saleswoman named Sue Claussen checks into a roadside motel in Arizona. Mike Cranshaw, the son of the motel owners, sees something special in Claussen and decides to pursue along the road after her. She claims she has no place for an aimless dreamer in her life, but Mike is determined to fight for her, and their place in the world just might be together.
