Forensic psychologist Kate (Olga Kurylenko) is investigating a series of apparent killings that are attributed to a 'sleep demon' - an evil spirit that leaves its victims in the same strangled, silent-scream state. Cynical cop McCarthy (Lance E. Nichols) rejects the supernatural explanations...but Kate begins to experience nightmare visions of her own.
