19th century Paris bursts into life in this vibrant, Oscar-winning drama from director John Huston. Disabled from a young age and withdrawn from those around him, artist Toulouse-Lautrec forgets his worries by drinking and mingling at the Moulin Rouge nightclub, where he sits and sketches the scenes he sees. Convinced that he will be alone forever, he is delighted to meet Marie, a young girl in need of help. The two become lovers, but he soon learns she is being unfaithful.
