Sixth-grader Lianzi always believed her family was perfectly happy and unbreakable. That was until her free-spirited father and hardworking mother had a major argument and signed divorce papers. It was then that Lianzi suddenly realized her romantic vision of her family was fragile and easily shattered. When the news of her parents' divorce spread at school, the judgmental looks from her classmates left her feeling utterly humiliated. Unwilling to accept the situation, Lianzi came up with an elaborate plan: she secretly used her mother's credit card to book train tickets and a hotel at the beautiful Lake Biwa, hoping her parents would accidentally meet and rekindle their relationship.
