Despite his violent empire, Al Capone wasn't caught for murder or bootlegging but for tax evasion. Federal agents, led by Eliot Ness and the "Untouchables" pressured his operations, while forensic accountants built a case. In 1931, Capone was convicted and sentenced to 11 years in prison.
