Zulu

The legendary stand by little more than 100 British troops defending a garrison against a force of 4,000-odd Zulu warriors at Rorke's Drift is superbly realised in director Cy Endfield's epic historical adventure. A young Michael Caine delivers an astoundingly assured performance and the relentless action packs a visceral punch. This is that rarity in films - an all-action, no-frills, straightforward re-creation of an heroic moment in history.
