Miranda and Max are punished for a longstanding smuggling bust going south by being sent undercover in a holiday resort to investigate a series of thefts from guests' rooms. While Max is happy for the getaway, Miranda is offended by assignment.

Miranda is forced to finally take some time off, but when a body appears near a mysterious women-only island retreat, Miranda can't help but meddle in Max's investigation by checking into the resort herself.

Max and Miranda investigate an arson case in the Mallorcan countryside that has become the unlikely centre of a volatile election. When a body is discovered, the detectives must sort through the murky dealings of politicians, businessmen and eco-activists to solve what lies at the heart of the crime.
