April Matson

Although the 2004-2005 Fox TV sitcom "Quintuplets" was canceled after just 22 episodes, it afforded co-star April Matson the career-launching break she had been looking for. As Penny Chase, one of the five siblings of the title, Matson was able to make good on her training at the Elsinore Theatre, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and The Second City, as well as pay off a number of student loans. Her work alongside series star Andy Richter led to the role of Lori Trager on the 2006-2009 ABC Family science-fiction drama "Kyle XY." In addition to appearing onscreen as the foster sister of the amnesic lead character (Matt Dallas), Matson was able to showcase her talent as a singer by contributing a pair of acoustic guitar performances to the show's soundtrack: "Will You Remember Me (Lori's Song)" and "Right in Front of Me." Matson also took advantage of her "Kyle XY" fame to release a five-song EP in 2008, "Pieces of My Heart." In the wake of her 2004-2009 TV work, Matson returned to the realm of independent film with co-starring roles in the 2009 crime drama "Black Russian," the 2010 comedy "The Latin & The Gringo," and the 2011 horror feature "Vile."
