Returning from France without Matt, C.J. immediately throws herself back into work. The girls and her go on a junior lifeguard trip to pass on some valuable training. Elsewhere, Mitch gains an adopted daughter.

Joey begins to remember her past as she helps Mitch and Hobie put up Christmas decorations. CJ is concerned that Father Ryan may be thinking of leaving the priesthood for her, despite her relationship with Matt.

Matt and Hobie rescue a young boy who is being bullied by a bully. They decide to take care of him until they can take him back to his mother, but they suspect that he is hiding something from them.

Matt returns to patch up his relationship with CJ. However, events take an unexpected turn when a group of pirates take a millionaire couple hostage and place them on the wreck of an oil platform.

Stephanie gets her fellow Baywatch lifeguards to participate in a sailing regatta. Mitch looks to formally adopt Joey, but unforeseen complications threaten to dash his hopes of becoming Joey's legal guardian.
