Dayton Lummis

Dayton Lummis was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Lummis started his acting career landing roles in such films as "Man in the Dark" (1953), the Marlon Brando dramatic adaptation "Julius Caesar" (1953) and "All I Desire" (1953). He also appeared in the adventure "The Golden Blade" (1953) with Rock Hudson, the Edmond O'Brien action film "China Venture" (1953) and the James Stewart biopic "The Glenn Miller Story" (1954). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the Leo Gorcey comedy "High Society" (1955), the biopic "Prince of Players" (1955) with Richard Burton and the drama "The Prodigal" (1955) with Lana Turner. He also appeared in the Richard Egan dramatic adaptation "The View From Pompey's Head" (1955). Nearing the end of his career, he continued to act in the Henry Fonda crime picture "The Wrong Man" (1956), "Monkey on My Back" (1957) and "The Music Box Kid" (1960). He also appeared in the historical feature "Spartacus" (1960) with Kirk Douglas and "Beauty and the Beast" (1962) with Joyce Taylor. Lummis more recently acted in "Jack the Giant Killer" (1962). Lummis passed away in March 1988 at the age of 85.
