When an apparently well-loved family GP is shot dead and a fellow GP goes missing in mysterious circumstances, Janine and the team fear that all the surgery staff are at risk. When trying to discover the reasons behind the events, the team realise that beneath a respectable exterior the true personal and professional lives of the doctors are far from straight-forward.

K Troop's preparations to fight overseas are interrupted by a vicious and fatal attack on an unpopular soldier. As events unfold, more deaths occur and the plot grows more mysterious. Meanwhile, Janine's usually calm head is being turned from the investigation by the handsome Major in charge at the base. It's down to Richard to try to keep police and army interests apart.
