An accountant employed by drug dealer Lemond Bishop, one of the firm's most lucrative and dangerous clients, is arrested by the FBI. Alicia and Diane must work with Lesli Rand, from the law firm that handles Bishop's illicit activities, to find out whether the authorities are after his legal businesses or his drug money. Meanwhile, Nick creates more trouble for Kalinda and Peter prepares for a straw poll.

While preparing to defend jailed drug dealer Lemond Bishop against a murder charge, Alicia is obliged to work with Charles Lester, a lawyer from another firm that Bishop wants on the case. However, when prosecution witnesses start recanting their testimonies, Alicia suspects that the softly spoken Lester's meek appearance camouflages an intimidating character.

Diane and Cary represent Colin Sweeney when he accuses a television producer of basing an unflattering character on his life. Alicia competes against Frank Pady for a campaign donation.

Alicia's future is uncertain after she is forced to resign as state's attorney. RD hires Cary and Diane to argue against conservative lawyers in a test case involving mandatory minimum sentencing.
