Horace Murphy

Horace Murphy was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Murphy began his acting career with roles in such films as "Everyman's Law" (1936), "Ranger Courage" (1936) with Robert Allen and "The Gun Ranger" (1936). He also appeared in the Johnny Mack Brown western "Rogue of the Range" (1936), "The Last of the Warrens" (1936) and the Johnny Mack Brown western "The Crooked Trail" (1936). He kept working in film throughout the thirties, starring in "Lawless Land" (1937), "Trouble in Texas" (1937) and "Western Gold" (1937). He also appeared in the Jack Randall western "Stars Over Arizona" (1937). Nearing the end of his career, he continued to act in the Buck Jones western "The Stranger From Arizona" (1938), the Tex Ritter western "Frontier Town" (1938) and the western "Flaming Frontiers" (1938) with Johnny Mack Brown. He also appeared in "The Utah Trail" (1938) and "Billy the Kid Returns" (1938) with Roy Rogers. Murphy more recently acted in the crime flick "Fallen Angel" (1946) with Alice Faye. Murphy passed away in January 1975 at the age of 95.
