Jack Kinney

Kinney's most enduring and celebrated contributions to the field were his Goofy "How To..." shorts in the 40s. While Disney was the undisputed leader in cartoon features during this period, their shorts were becoming staid compared to the anarchic offerings from Warner Brothers (Bugs Bunny & Co.) and MGM (Tom & Jerry). Jack Kinney and his brother, cartoon writer Dick Kinney, helped close the gap with their funny, fast-paced and often violent efforts.
