In this episode a young man has been wrongly convicted of killing a girl. He has spent the last ten years in prison - and only wants to clear his name. He ends up holding a courthouse hostage - and inside the courtroom is Ed.

David and Leo's mother finally reveals the truth and the news rocks the residents of Ramsay Street. Sonya is having trouble sleeping and again seeks solace in Mark's company. Mark claims that his feelings towards Sonya are totally platonic, but whether Toadie believes this remains to be seen.

David digs into his family's past, following a series of clues that he hopes will lead him to his father. Leo and Amy struggle to hide their feelings for each other, despite Leo's mother's evident disapproval. After tensions rise between the two, Elly confronts Finn but things do not go exactly to plan.

Leo and David learn that their mother is coming to Erinsborough and decide to confront her about the identity of their father. Sheila belatedly realises that she has made a terrible mistake and that there is going to be hell to pay.
