Actress Clare Carey was born in Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia), while her parents were working at a Catholic mission. Inspired by their example, she's gone on to balance her professional acting career with philanthropic work, running acting classes and a theatre troupe for homeless youth. She has trained in various aspects of the performing arts at such renowned schools as NYU Film School and London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. This diversely skilled actress made her film debut in 1987 with a supporting role in the conformity-themed horror "Zombie High." Two years later she landed the role for which she is best remembered, that of Kelly Fox, the beloved daughter of Craig T. Nelson's "Coach," on the popular sitcom. After six years on the show, Carey went on to land a string of one-off roles before playing onscreen mom to the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, on their sitcom "So Little Time." Ultimately, the show failed to catch on and was cancelled. Her next three series had similar results: the crime drama "Point Pleasant," the action-packed mystery-drama "Jericho," and "Crash," the racially charged spinoff of the Oscar-winning drama of the same name. Carey continues to make regular appearances on television and in occasional film roles.
