Superman narrowly prevents disaster at an atomic facility. In doing so, he has become totally irradiated and will kill living things just by being close to them. This forces Superman into exile while the scientists try to figure out what to do.

Two thieves attempt to steal valuable paintings and demand ransom, but they are forced to commit murder when the plan goes awry.
