A suit upgrade gives Jefferson new powers, but takes a toll on his body. Anissa looks into the exposé her grandfather was writing when he died.

Jefferson is on the hunt for his father's killer, and Anissa uses her new powers to rectify a wrong after a protest fails. Later Jennifer grapples with some difficult choices, and Gambi begs Lynn for help.

Black Lightning works with Anissa to help find information to clear Black Lightning's name. Jennifer begins interning for Lynn and Gambi finds himself in a precarious situation.

As suspicions that Jefferson Pierce is Black Lightning grow, the ASA arranges to have him arrested. Lynn seeks help from Detective Henderson, and Gambi and Anissa work together to show Black Lightning is still running around the streets of Freeland.
