Kyle Schmid

Born in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Kyle Schmid turned to the stage at a young age. After a number of jobs as a child model and a few commercials, Schmid appeared in his first film when he landed a supporting role in "Virus" (1996), an action movie starring former football player Brian Bosworth. His first series recurring role came three years later, on the show "My Best Friend is an Alien" (ABC (Canada), 1999-2001). After a number of supporting roles on shows like "Degrassi: Next Generation" (CTV, 2001-09; MuchMusic, 2010-13; MTV Canada 2013-15) and "Odyssey 5" (Showtime, 2002), Schmid appeared in his first bona fide Hollywood film, the Vin Diesel comedy "The Pacifier" (2005). He continued to appear in successful features with roles in "The History of Violence" (2005) and "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" (2005) before appearing in his first series regular role, on the Canadian vampire show "Blood Ties" (Lifetime, 2007). In 2012, Schmid landed major roles in two series, a recurring role on the science fiction series "Being Human" (SyFy, 2011-14), and a series regular role on "Copper" (BBC America, 2012-13) a police procedural set in 1860s New York City. In 2017, Schmid premiered as a series regular on the new show "Six" (History Channel, 2017-) following the exploits of famed SEAL Team Six.
